About the Author

Rev. Henry Atherton was born in Wigan, Lancashire, in 1875. Converted as a young man, he became an evangelist with the Church of England. He became pastor of Grove Chapel, Camberwell, in 1912, where he remained pastor until his death in 1933. He was the first Secretary of the Sovereign Grace Union and from 1931 until his death served as President of the Union.
